[Open] group leader positions at the Montpellier Cell Biology Research Center (CRBM)

from February 28, 2020 to March 31, 2020

Cell Biology Research Center
Montpellier (France)

The CRBM is recruiting new group leaders to establish a world-class research program reinforcing these topics, in an interactive and supportive environment. All projects related to cell biology with the potential to synergize with CRBM topics will be considered, including interdisciplinary projects. We also welcome projects involving the computational modeling of cellular processesand the development of mass spectrometry based proteomic approaches related to the CRBM research topics.

The CRBM (crbm.cnrs.fr) is a research institute located in Montpellier, in Southern France, internationally renowned in the fields of biochemistry and cell biology.  The  institute  sits within  a  multidisciplinary  campus  of  the  French  National  Center  for  Scientific  Research (CNRS). Research at the institute covers fundamental and translational aspects of biology, including:

  • Cell division
  • Cell adhesion and signaling
  • Cancer biology
  • Gene regulation and systems biology
  • Bioinformatics and molecular modeling

Selected group leaders will receive laboratory space and access to a range of technological platforms, including a cutting-edge imaging facility hosted by CRBM (htpp://www.mri.cnrs.fr).
Selected group leaders will be assisted in obtaining permanent tenured positions (CNRS) and in securing funding through competitive grant calls. CRBM is supported by the CNRS and the University of Montpellier. It is composed of 15 research  groups,  bringing  together 170 staff members and  students. CRBM interacts closely with CNRS biological institutes of the campus, IRIM and IGMM, bringing together 450  scientists.
CRBM benefits from state-of-the-art platforms dedicated to imaging, proteomics, animal facilities (ascidians, zebrafish, xenopus laevis, and transgenic mice), deep sequencing and transcriptomics, FACS sorting, and histology through the Montpellier BioCampus network (htpp://biocampus.cnrs.fr).
CRBM is part of the Montpellier Comprehensive Cancer center (Montpellier SIRIC) and of the I-SITE MUSE, and is affiliated to the French laboratory of Excellence Labex Epigenmed.
Montpellier is a dynamic and attractive Mediterranean city in an exceptional environment. It is home to many high quality research institutes, a vibrant student population and one of the world’s oldest medical schools.
