- Job : Graduate assistant in experimental psychologyEmployementfrom July 21, 2020 to July 31, 2020The Faculty of political and social Sciences and The Institute of Psychology offer a Graduate Assistant position in experimental psychology. Our research team (BEAM lab) is developing, in collaboration with the neuro imaging research laboratory (LREN) of the University of Lausanne, a research project that aims to understand the principles of learning-dependent functional and structural brain plasticity in humans.
- Post-doc position: Characterization of molecular determinants and cellular pathways controlling muscle fiber splittingEmployementon the July 21, 2020In advanced stages of muscular dystrophies, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a large subset of muscle fibers shows longitudinal splitting or branching. However, despite critical impact on muscle cytoarchitecture, on vulnerability to contraction-induced damage and on muscle weakening, mechanisms of muscle fibers splitting remain largely unexplored. The goal of this project is to identify molecular determinants and characterize cellular pathways controlling muscle fiber splitting.
- PhD student position in neuroscience: neural bases of appetitive and aversive memoriesEmployementfrom June 15, 2020 to August 15, 2020Our research aims to study the neural circuit and mechanisms of appetitive and aversive memories in mice by combining electrophysiological, anatomical, behavioral (learning and memory tasks) and genetics-based techniques. The project involves stereotaxic surgeries, image acquisition/analysis, in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics and dataanalysis.
- PhD Project in Electrophysiology: Closed-loop Transcranial Electric Stimulation of Neural Networks in a Rodent Model of Psychosis TransitionEmployementon the July 21, 2020Patients suffering from schizophrenia develop resistance to chemical treatments. Transcranial electrical stimulation (TES), a non-invasive neurophysiological approach, has been shown to alleviate some symptoms, to improve cognitive performances, and to modulate the corticothalamic connectivity. The goal of the project is to optimize a combination of stimulation parameters that make it efficient for the TES against the psychosis transition using predictive electrical biomarkers.
- Early-Stage Researcher (PhD position) in Childhood Deafness and Communication Research, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN)Employementfrom July 21, 2020 to August 20, 2020Could you make an outstanding contribution to childhood deafness and communication research? Would you like to contribute to a cutting-edge European research network? Do you want to develop your research career and study for a PhD in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
